After moving from Korea over 20 years ago, local restaurant owners Nancy and Won Lee decided to start their own eatery upon noticing a lack of healthy choices in the area, Nancy Lee said.
Nancy’s Sky Garden has operated in Georgetown for five years, offering healthy options with an outdoor garden and patio area for guests to enjoy.
“I like going out to eat, but I noticed how difficult it could be if you want to avoid eating so unhealthy all the time,” said Nancy Lee. “Eating healthy is good for you in so many ways, and it makes me happy when customers say our food actually makes them feel better.”
With locations in Austin, Cedar Park and Round Rock, Nancy’s Sky Garden in Georgetown is a Korean-inspired restaurant with a health-focused menu and selection of specialty teas. The restaurant is located in downtown Georgetown on the fourth floor of the Tamiro Plaza building.
With a 75-person capacity, customers can eat inside in a dining room surrounded by Korean-inspired art or outside on a patio decorated with a variety of succulent plants and with views that overlook downtown Georgetown.
The restaurant’s menu includes low-calorie and high-protein foods, along with many fruits and vegetables.
Entrées are served either with a “color wheel” plate of veggies and a protein for a low-carb diet or with a salad, protein and sweet potato—similar to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s MyPlate system for a balanced diet.
Popular dishes at the restaurant include pan-seared tofu, mango chicken and almond-ginger chicken, Nancy Lee said.
As an avid gardener, Nancy Lee said she is happy with the difference her and her husband’s restaurant makes in the community.
“I love gardening and helping others,” she said. “The food makes people feel better, and the garden livens up their day. It’s nice whenever customers thank us for our local service.”
