DULUTH, Minn.- Minnesotans working to change the flow of food through laws, policies, and systems are meeting this week.

The Minnesota Food Access Summit brings together around 550 individuals from different fields, aiming to solve the issue of healthy food access.

“When you have an opportunity to work with different sectors, it really helps you expand and creatively think of new ideas and solutions to problems,” Director of Economic Opportunity at the Minnesota Department of Human Services Tikki Brown said. “That you might not have thought of on your own.”

Some barriers and issues discussed this week are; transportation, institutional racism, agriculture, and access. If you wish to help visit Community Action Duluth or volunteer at a local food shelf.
