Ararat Probus | Club focuses on healthy food options

In July, Ararat Ladies Probus had new business owner Amy Carruthers from One Bite at a Time Nutrition Pantry address the meeting.

Our guest speaker talked of her new business opening in the Safeway Complex and it was terrific to hear so many simple health tricks and ways to look after ourselves.

It is fantastic to learn of the knowledge and health tips that are now available in Ararat.

This year the committee is considering more trips around the Ararat Municipality to look at new homes and witness how much is happening in and around the municipality.

We actually were able to receive a grant last year to begin our journeys.

The changes that are occurring throughout the municipality were observed from the bus by members and many tell us these can be great conversation pieces around the dinner table.

If possible we would love to tour more widely afield this year and take in our smaller towns.

The members are very conscious of new people moving into the municipality because of the return of the passenger trains. If you would like to join us we would make you really welcome. So many homes have been sold recently with proposed new businesses opening up.

Ararat Ladies Probus is always looking for new members and this year the President is Gwenda Allgood, Secretary Margaret Dunmore, Treasurer Eva McNulty, Vice President Marcelle Smith with committee members Myra Harrod, May Reid, Joyce Little and Esma Verdon.
