NeuroMetrix to present at Biotech Showcase

NeuroMetrix, of Waltham, announced that Shai N. Gozani M.D., president and CEO, will be presenting at the 10th annual Biotech Showcase 2018 Conference at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square at 11 a.m. Jan. 8 PT. A live webcast will be available on the investor relations page at http://NeuroMetrix.com and will be archived after the event. Gozani will also present at the Digital Medicine & Medtech Showcase at 1 p.m. Jan. 9 PT, which will not be webcast. Both talks will highlight the Company's Quell Wearable Pain Relief Technology and provide an update on the company’s business activities.

Microbiology Research Associates announces lease

The recent lease, renewal and expansion of Microbiology Research Associates has been announced at 33 Nagog Park in Acton. MRA has committed to leasing more than 12,000 square feet of office and lab space at the property. They have been a tenant in the building for more than 17 years and have gradually grown within the building during their tenancy. According to Marci Alvarado, senior advisor at SVN-PCG who represented the landlord, “MRA, has made a significant investment into their space and they are committed to staying in the building. The ownership is pleased that they have chosen to remain at the property.” The tenant was represented by Matt Quinlan, also of SVN, in conjunction with Carlson Commercial, of Minnesota.

MutualOne Charitable Foundation awards $10K

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation, of Framingham, has awarded $10,000 to the Natick Service Council to support the organization’s case management and Heart Healthy Food Pantry programs for individuals and families experiencing hardship or economic uncertainty. The announcement of the grant was made recently by Steven M. Sousa, executive vice president and chief operating officer of MutualOne Bank and a foundation trustee. According to Executive Director Greg Tutuny, 700 client families are currently served by the case management program, which is the gateway to all Natick Service Council programs and services. Over 67 percent of the families served rely on the Heart Healthy Food Pantry. The $10,000 grant to the Natick Service Council was among awards totaling $121,000 in the MutualOne Charitable Foundation’s most recent round of funding.

CTS Services acquires Laserserv Imaging

As 2017 came to a close, CTS Services, of Bellingham, opened a new market with the acquisition of competing printer service company Laserserv Imaging, of Chelsea, and Alton, New Hampshire. At a time when many information technology service companies are struggling to deliver good service while trying to grow the business, CTS Services is leveraging its reputation in the marketplace and its relationship with printer manufacturers. In acquiring LaserServ Imaging, CTS will be able to leverage its partnership-level status with all major printer vendors including Epson, HP, Xerox and more.

Raytheon assigned patent

Raytheon, of Waltham, has been assigned a patent developed by 12 co-inventors for "metallic nosecone with unitary assembly." The co-inventors are Stephanie G. Rodriguez, of Tucson, Arizona; Todd Kuhar, of Tucson, Arizona; Thomas H. Penhollow, of Tucson, Arizona; Brian B. Greer, of Tucson, Arizona; Mark A. Hahn, of Tucson, Arizona; Regina P. Reed, or Tucson, Arizona; Richard M. Cordova, of Tucson, Arizona; Patrick G. Dickerson, of Tucson, Arizona; Kenneth G. Preston, of Sahuarita, Arizona; Rick A. Ramos, of Denver, Colorado; Brady A. Hink, of Tucson, Arizona; and Gary H. Johnson, of Tucson, Arizona. The abstract states: "A nosecone is provided and includes a ring that includes an angled surface, a nosecone tip, a double-walled shroud portion including inner and outer dome elements, a first end that interfaces with and is constrained by the nosecone tip and a second end that is connectable to the ring to define with the angled surface a sliding, resistive interface and a shim disposable in the double walled shroud portion to pre-load the sliding, resistive interface and to provide for separation distance between the inner and outer dome elements." The patent application was filed on Aug. 14, 2015.
