Hotels gearing up for New Year celebrations

With just a few days for New Year, hotels in the city are gearing up for midnight celebrations on December 31.

In some hotels, the celebrations start with Christmas. With more number of hotels opened in the city in the recent months, customers have a wide choice for celebations. Some focus on themes such as healthy food, some have non-alcohol parties.

Poppys Hotel has installed a 60-feet-tall Christmas tree. Placed at the centre of the atrium of Cafe Gardenia, the 1.2 tonne tree was created by a 30-member team and was developed by the hotel in co-ordination with Dream Flowers Events. Guests can have snacks sitting around the tree and there is a wish board, too. The tree will be at the hotel till January 2.

At the Residency Towers, all its restaurants will be open for the midnight dinner on December 31. The hotel will have a New Year party at Bike and Barrel.

WelcomHotel Coimbatore has come out with a special package for Christmas and New Year that covers two night stay at the hotel and six meals for two.

The augmented menu on New Year night will focus on healthy food. Non-alcoholic wine and beer will also be served.

Fairfield Marriott will welcome 2018 with a non-alcoholic party that will not have loud music too. There will be surprises for the guests with the performance of a magician. The entire ground floor will be converted into a restaurant.

Evez N Ads will present “Selfie party with MTV Rockstars” at Taj Vivanta and the celebrations will start at about 7 p.m. on December 31.

The artist line up includes Nauman and Salman, DJ Reeshav and DJ Uday Shah. There will be non-stop music, LED Dhol, and a lavish buffet and beverages.

At Le Meridien, where a special event is planned from 6 p.m., there will be a performance by seven eminent DJs, fashion show, dance performance by the “5678 crew”, imported alcohol, and unlimited starters.

The Coimbatore market has grown to accommodate several leading brands of hotels and the New Year eve celebrations will give guests several options, said the general manager of one of the hotels.
