Quick Bites: Dinner supports healthy food for kids

SANTA CRUZ >> Second Harvest Food Bank has announced details for the 17th annual Santa Cruz Chefs’ Dinner on Thursday, Sept. 14, which includes a six-course gourmet meal paired with wine from local vintners. The event, at Holy Cross Annex (126 High St.), begins with a champagne reception and silent auction at 6 p.m. Dinner follows at 7 p.m. Featured chefs are Steve Wilson (Café Cruz), Scott Cater (Paradise Beach Grille), Kendra Baker (Assembly), Tom McNary (Carried Away), Anthony Kresge (Sotola Bar & Grill) and Ashley Peixoto (California Grill). Early bird tickets, available until Aug. 31, are $250 per person. See thefoodbank.networkforgood.com/events/2827-santa-cruz-chefs-dinner. The dinner is Second Harvest’s signature event supporting its Food For Children program, which is celebrating 20 years of providing healthy food to children in Santa Cruz County.
